Re: Renouncing British citizenship question

History is a record of the incidents that have occured in your life. It does not depend on your citizenship. It will always remain on record.

Re: British naturalisation

I am not bothered. But many people here use the experiences of others for their own application. Nobody can demand you share your experience but there is no need to pretend you are very helpful and hence expect reciprocity. Look at the number of queries you have asked and people here have been very ...

Re: Unborn Child's Citizenship

i think the OP is confused about naturalization. He thinks he is naturalized because he is not British by birth. I dont know if Hong Kong citizens under HK law are considered British by naturalization.

Re: Visiting home country after naturalisation

I fail to understand why moderators have to bend backwards to justify their well meant comments. Too many people here want answers that suit their needs. If you differ you are bad. These people should just be ignored. OP is constantly asking what you think are the possibilities and when pointed out ...

Re: Naturalisation delay over 2 years

Again, this is an open ended issue. Some cases decide in a few days, others have have taken months. You have to be patient. At least you now know that its under process.

Re: Visiting home country after naturalisation

You can only be advised about the possibilities. None here purport to be experts or work for HO or Border Agency. You have to decide on your own. By persistently questioning, you are asking for guarantees which nobody can give you. You are informed about the dangers by Zimba and you decide.

Re: Applying for citizenship: Referee questions

Shredding a document does not mean you are not a national of that country, unless you have renounced it. When you are asked for uncancelled passports you will have a legal document in your name. Its like hiding your passport and saying you lost it. I believe you will have to provide some documentati...

Re: Born Abroad to British Mother

The easiest way is to apply for settled status and one year later apply for british nationality. Alternatively you can apply for a DCPR showing evidence of exercising treaty rights for 6 years and on getting it apply for british national. Since you are over 18 you cannot apply for registration as a ...

Re: Right route to Naturalisation

Casa, CR001, Simon and Zimba can be considered experts in citizenship applications. I have never seen anyone contradict each other. Though they may make some points that could be relevant. In this case apparently all concur with CR1 and they don't feel it necessary to add to her comments. The rules ...

Casa being knowledgable gave you her opionion. You seem to disagree and quote chapter and verse.

Nobody else has knowledge enough to confirm your views. So you have to make up your own mind and proceed.

Re: Naturalisation application questions

What would you enter to the question: How do you know the person?
You cannot enter live in partner that would be married as per common law.
I opine that such a person cannot be a referee.

Can someone please confirm if an Islamic marriage with a certificate issued by a mosque valid whilst applying for a spouse visa in Mumbai India? If so does it have to be authenticated by any Govt department in Mumbai? I was told that religious marriages are not valid.

Whatever the reason, such documents are sent by secured mail. So dont presume its lost in the mail. It could be a number of reasons and I think its best to contact HO and query about your certificate.

Re: MN1 has been 6 months now

I see that the more the moderators indulge such questions, the more persistent and demanding they become. When they receive an email telling them to wait, why are they so inconsiderate to keep badgering with the same questions? If HO does not give an acceptable response do they expect people in a fo...

As far as I know, only one referee is required for a passport application, two for naturalization. Have they changed the requirements?
