Re: Traveling on non-UK passport after becoming a UK citizen

I'm due to travel soon with an outstanding passport application. However, my second nationality is non-visa. Will give everyone in this thread an update next week. British Airways did not ask to see BRP at check-in. I informed the immigration officer in London that I was a British Citizen. He was s...

Re: Referee Dates

Thank you strong and stable. Is there anything definitive regarding the referee dates? I just want to absolutely guarantee is all. There is nothing particularly explicit in the guidance. Don't overthink it! I had my referees sign and date my forms weeks before my application without issue. So did m...

Re: Traveling on non-UK passport after becoming a UK citizen

As part of applying for new British passport, you are required to submit your current foriegn (dual passport). Thus, you cannot travel to the other country without a valid passport. This isn't true. First, HMPO is often willing to accept a photocopy of your foreign passport if you provide a reasona...

Re: Sopra Steria Advice (UKVCAS)

Thank you! Also, which dates do the referee forms need to be dated? Before the application date or can they be afterwards? Referee form can be dated after your application date or up to a month before your application date. (One month because the photo is not supposed to be more than a month old.) ...

Re: Sopra Steria Advice (UKVCAS)

Hi all, I'm in the process of submitting documents. I have some questions I'd appreciate urgent help on. 1) It says to upload in B&W. Is this okay? Is it okay to submit in color? Seems wrong to be in B&W. Colour and b&w are both fine. The reason they suggest b&w is to help keep the ...

Re: Please help: Naturalisation Eligibility and CW discretion

I understand that the case workers can apply discretion if you were in the UK within 2 months either side of of the application day 3 years prior, in my case I was in UK 15 days or less before the start of 3 years qualifying period and I would be meeting all the other conditions for the 3 year rout...

Were you living in Jersey when the visa was issued? The Channel Islands don't issue BRPs. They still use vignettes in the passport that are valid for the full period of leave. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1024144/Common_travel_area.p...

Re: Middle Initial on US Passport & BRP

So, she's applying for a new passport next week to change the initial to the full middle name. My question is: do we need to change the BRP? What evidence and purpose is required regarding changing an initial to a full middle name. Do you have an estimate on how long this would take or a number to ...

Re: Middle Initial on US Passport & BRP

Thank you again strong and stable. Would UKVI not raises issues with this middle name change? Would they not think why previous applications and things such as her Life in the UK and BRP all have a 'different' name (although it's an initial)? The only guidance I can find on this matter is here: htt...

Re: Middle Initial on US Passport & BRP

Thank you strong and stable. Would the BRP also have to be changed before the application? Can you foresee any issues after naturalisation where we'll come stuck with her 'official' middle name becomes her initial, e.g. electoral roll, mortgage applications etc? I personally would like to do things...

Hi all. My wife is the USC. Her passport has her middle initial instead of her full middle name. Subsequently, her BRP has her middle initial and not her full middle name. She's coming to apply for citizenship after holding ILR. The citizenship application asks for her given names. Well, her actual...
