What is my family visa status if I am as a sponsor left the UK for good

Post by Aji » Mon May 09, 2022 9:39 am

Hi guys.

Good morning. I trust you all are well and healthy.

I have a question regarding my family's UK-dependent visa status while I am as a sponsor for them left the UK and move to another country for good.

FYI, I am currently under the sponsorship of one company. I am moving abroad because my Employer close their operation in London and move to another country. And I will join them.

Can my family stay here, if yes, how long can they stay in the UK without me in the country?

Looking forward to your answer.

Many thanks

If your sponsorship has ended in the UK and the employer ceased operating in the UK, then you have no sponsorship and they must inform UKVI of this and that your visa sponsorship is withdrawn.

Your dependents are only permitted to stay in the UK as your dependent visa holders if you are in the UK. When your sponsorship and employment in the UK ends, they must also leave.

Hi @CR001,

Thank you so much for your answer, I really appreciate it.

I have further questions regarding this situation,

I found the information about we still can stay in the UK if the Employer has canceled the sponsorship for a max of 60 days.

According to that info, are my family still can stay in the UK for 60 days too?

Many thanks

their ability to remain in the UK is wholly dependent on you being in the UK and working for your sponsor.

Why do they need to stay??

My situation is, my employer will move their operation to another country by the end of June, And I got the schedule of moving by the 30th of June.

The reason why I need my family to stay is that we need to wait until the end of this academic year which will end on mid of July for my child to get the complete documents for them to continue to school in the country I am about to move to.
